From 1971-1983, Hans J. Vermeer held a professorship in General and Applied Linguistics at FTSK (School of Translation and Interpreting Studies, Linguistics and Cultural Studies) in Germersheim.
In 2008, he returned to our department and held lectures and seminars on Translation Studies until his death in 2010.
